Domestic Violence Counseling for men is a 26-52 week program. Domestic Violence counseling is designed to help abusive men see the effect they have on others, including friends, family, and loved ones. The program focuses on counseling and realization methods to show the boundaries and barriers of healthy relationships. Simple practices and situation exercises help batterers to understand the use and abuse of power, control and violence over others. The counselors hold group discussions regarding alternative communication methods. These practices help men see the barriers that power and control play in their intimate relationships and how to communicate without violence.
Domestic Violence counseling is used merely as a guidance tool to show abusers alternative methods of communication, besides violence. Although, domestic violence counseling is not a guarantee that an abuser will change completely, our curriculum is evidence based and uses counseling methods that are proven to be successful.
